Brainwave Music Lab: Brain Karaoke

Brain Karaoke is a relaxed interactive environment in which some members of the audience have a possibility to transfer their brain activity into sounds in real time. Listening to those real-time brain sounds of a single audience member, two live musicians improvise with their own instruments. The musicians have two challenging tasks: 1. reacting to the brainwave sounds and 2. giving the audience member different musical impulses, which have an influence on his brain activity and the sounds the brain is creating. The result is a complex neuro-musical biofeedback interaction loop, in which the audience member can choose, whether he wants to actively have an influence on music, or let his brain unconsciously react to the sounds. Either way, he participates in the building process of the aesthetic result of the Brain Karaoke session.
