Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued an appeal to Russian soldiers on Wednesday to leave his country. Our resistance for almost two weeks has shown you that we will not surrender, because this is our home. It is our families and children. We will fight until we can win back our land, the president said. In his address, Zelensky also said efforts were underway Wednesday to evacuate some 18,000 people from embattled towns in the Kyiv region to the capital itself. He said it is part of broader evacuation efforts on multiple humanitarian corridors, and warned Russian forces against violating ceasefire promises.
