I visited the Helsinki Baltic Herring Market and purchased a traditional savory pie Kalakukko (literally called Fish rooster). It's a specialty of Northern Savonia Region and especially in the city of Kuopio. It consists of rye bread cover and vendace (small whitefish) and pork filling. Kalakukko is Traditional Speciality Guaranteed in Europe since 2002.
