Kaikki osastoon kuuluvat ohjaajat työskentelevät ilmataistelulennonopettajina Ilmasotakoululla, jossa osastolentoharjoittelu tapahtuu päätoimen ohella. Osastossa lentäminen vaatii sitoutumista ja kovaa harjoittelua, mutta Midnight Hawksiin valituksi tuleminen on kunniatehtävä, josta ei kieltäydytä. Kaudella 2020 Midnight Hawksin lentävään kokoonpanoon kuuluvat osaston johtaja kapteeni Vesa Loukko, siipimiehinä lentävät numerolla #2 kapteeni Eero Mannismäki ja kapteeni Juha Tervahartiala numerolla #3 sekä jonopaikkaa lentävä kapteeni Oskari Tähtinen numerolla #4. Esityslentokausi 2020 muodostui koronarajoitusten vuoksi lyhyeksi, mutta Midnight Hawksin esityslentoa päästiin kuitenkin näkemään puolustusvoimain lippujuhlan päivänä 4. kesäkuuta ja 29.–30. elokuuta Kauhava Air Show’ssa. The Midnight Hawks at Kauhava Air Show The Midnight Hawks is the aerobatic team of the Finnish Air Force. Flying four Hawk jet trainers, the team has proudly presented the expertise and capabilities of the Finnish Air Force in air shows both at home and abroad since 1997. All Midnight Hawks pilots are qualified air combat and Hawk flight instructors at the Air Force Academy, rehearsing aerobatics on top of their teaching responsibilities. Formation aerobatics require gruelling training and commitment, yet being chosen as a member of the Midnight Hawks is an honour no one can turn down. The 2020 display team pilots are Captain Vesa Loukko (No. 1 Team Leader), Captain Eero Mannismäki (No. 2 Left Wing), Captain Juho Tervahartiala (No. 3 Right Wing) and Captain Oskari Tähtinen (No. 4 Slot Position). Due to the prevailing circumstances the display season is short this year. For the first time, the aerobatic team demonstrated their manoeuvres on the Flag Day of the Finnish Defence Forces, 4 June, in the skies over Helsinki. From 29 to 30 August, the team performed at the air show of the Finnish Aeronautical Association – Kauhava Air Show 2020.
