“In my work I study the interactions between viruses and their host cells. It is important to learn how the viruses work in order to stop them”, says Postdoctoral Researcher Elina Mäntylä from the Department of Biological and Environmental Science. Bio- ja ympäristötieteen laitoksen tutkijatohtori Elinä Mäntylä tutkii virusten ja isäntäsolun välisiä vuorovaikutuksia. ”Virusten toimintamekanismin tunteminen on tärkeää, jotta oppisimme miten viruksia voi pysäyttää”, hän sanoo.
