Mikko Salo – Professor, Department of Mathematics and Statistics Mikko Salo's research focuses on inverse problems, which is a sub-field of both pure and applied mathematics. The core of inverse problems is the mathematical theory and practical implementation of indirect measurements in various imaging methods. Similar methods can be used to study the structure of i.e. viruses and the ozone layer.
