The Ravishing Shangri-La Rubies is what Cherry "Turrrbo-Cherry" Dee and Tinker Bell call themselves, when they´re not performing under the wings of The Itty-Bitty Tease Cabaret. Probably most well-known for that pioneer and crème de la crème group of the Finnish burlesque scene, these two glitter-spreading firecracker women are so productive it quite makes a more mellow fellow sigh, swoon and shake her head in wonder... The Rubies run their own burlesque school; The Shangri-La School of Showgirls, coaching and choreographing their intermediate- and advanced level performing student troupes The Shangri-La Showgirls and The Shangrilettes, as well as holding season-long coaching classes for solo artists. They also organise lots of workshops and shorter courses, among them the hugely popular "Strike a Pose! And Keep the Posture" posing and stage presence workshop - and private lessons can easily be arranged, should you so wish. But things are about to happen in the near future, so keep you eyes open and you hips prepared for a lot more bump n’grind to come.. Tinker & Cherry host their own club at Café Mascot, Rubies Klubit, returning a few months apart always under a different theme. The duo also produces the yearly Christmas revue Under the Mistle Tease, as well as The Shangri-La Summer Show. They have been seen performing with live bands such as The White Knuckles Trio and Sweet Jeena and her Sweethearts, and should you wish to book those bands along for a bigger, shinier show, it can be arranged. The Rubies also have a Christmas production going with the dazzling jazz sensation Lady Laverna - "A Cocktail For Christmas" to suit all your jazzy holiday moods.
