MUU Galleria - Leevi Lehtinen: Mortal Sin, 7.4.-10.5.2015
― MUUgalleria
Leevi Lehtinen: Mortal Sin, 7.4.-10.5.2015, MUU Gallery Mortal Sin is an exhibition of animation installations that explores guilt and shame. Thematically it picks up where Lehtinen's earlier puppet animation film (Ego) left off. While (Ego) addressed a sinner’s internal and subconscious feelings, Mortal Sin takes a step back and investigates the theme in a more universal manner. Mortal Sin questions the necessity of guilt and shame. Can a shameless individual be a functioning part of society? Would society descend into hedonistic chaos if there was no collective guilt? Would chaos make our society better or worse? Leevi Lehtinen is Finnish animation filmmaker and media artist. He has studied animation in Finland, Slovakia, and in the Netherlands. His passion is to combine traditional animation art with other art forms, and to find new audiences and platforms for his work. Sound design is by Anssi Laiho.
