This short video gives a flavour of some of the art on show in 2011 in the national pavilions in the Giardini, the gardens in the east of Venice that have been the principal official venue for the International biennale of visual art since 1895. The Giardini host the Central Pavilion and a further 29 national pavilions, built at different times over the last centrury by the participating countries. The artist's whose work is shown here are: Hajnal Németh (Hungary, 'Crash - Passive Interview'), Vesa-Pekka Rannikko (Finland), and Sigalit Landau (Israel).
