Eurovision 2025 Switzerland opened with the Turquoise Carpet event in Basel. Although not as visible in EBU's directed live broadcast, the song contest was welcomed with numerous Palestinian flags, banners against the genocide in Gaza, and loud outcry in protest against Israel's participation, along the entire 1.3-kilometer route.
