My work “Feedback Tunnel” is a site-specific sound installation that was installed in an old 19th century Russian missile silo/tunnel in the island of Harakka for four days (23.8. - 26.8. 2011). It consisted of two speakers placed opposite ends of the tunnel and two microphones facing each speaker, approx. 1 meter away. The idea was to have a controlled audio feedback environment and completely transform the sound to my own aesthetic. Usually the feedback sound is a quite powerful low or high whining kind of sound, but I wanted to have rigorous control over it, so I used the programming tool Max/MSP to gain control over it.
