One Child Killed in Vantaa | Finland School Shooting Police said all three victims were 12 years old, and one suspect, also 12, ran away but was later taken into custody. Parents told Finnish media that the attack took place in a classroom at Vanta Vietola school in the northern part of the city of Helsinki. Police said they reached the school within nine minutes at 09:17 (06:17 GMT) and were joined by the three victims. Local police Tomi Salosyrja said: One of the victims died almost instantly at this location of the school. It was stated that the condition of the two children who were taken to the hospital was critical. Like other Finnish schools, children have just returned to classes in Vantaa outside Helsinki after the long Easter break. Everyone involved in the incident is a 6th grade student. When the police arrived, the suspect fled and was arrested peacefully at 09.58 in the town of Siltamaki, north of Helsinki.
