Ukraine defeated that evil and will defeat this one.” It echoed the defiance of Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, who said he is refusing to leave Kyiv despite Russian sabotage groups entering the capital. Vladimir Putin’s rapid and brutal attack on Ukraine continued into a second day as US officials warned that the Kremlin's intention was a race to Kyiv to overthrow Mr Zelensky and install a new leadership allied to Russia.
