Paltsa-Kai Salama: Ran Out Of Love

For those of you familiar with the work of proto-punk band Black Lizard, interest in the debut single from Lizard frontman Paltsa-Kai Salama should be piqued. Citing influences as diverse as Grateful Dead, Crosby Stills & Nash and 1970's infused country pop, Salama serves up a different variety of retro sounds usually associated with his band. Debut single Ran Out Of Love demonstrates Salama's talent for appropriating influences from different era's yet making pop music that feels fresh and contemporary. A sweet melody punctuated by a keen acoustic guitar motif leaves us dreaming of warmer times. Video by Krista Huovinen. To cook up the vegan ham as Paltsa-Kai does in the video, here's the recipe, via http://chocochili.net/2008/12/vegaanin-joulukinkku/ Vegan Ham Ingredients: Ham: 4dl Gluten Flour 1dl Chickpea Flour 1dl Soya Flour 1tbsp Vegetable Bouillon Powder Bit of salt (depends how you like it) Some curry powder (depends how you like it) Some smoked paprika powder (see below) Garlic or garlic powder Ginger Powder 0,5dl Soya Sauce 0,5dl Olive oil 2,5dl Water Mix the dry ingredients Mix the liquid ingredients Mix them together and make it look like a ham Marinade: 2dl Water 1tbsp Mustard 2dl Water 1tbsp Soya Sauce 2-4tbsp Olive Oil 1tbsp Olive Oil Mix the marinade Pour it over the ham But the whole thing to the oven (150c') and let it stay there for 60-80 minutes Done!
