Summer Sound Festival 2014 - Axwell

EVENT ► Axwell, the leading figure of the Swedish House Mafia started his journey to the top of electronic dance music with his international super hit "Feel the Vibe" in 2005. After this the swede has been like a force of nature. "I Found U", "What a Wonderful World", "Heart is King" and "In My Mind" have defined modern dance music and lifted Axwell from the clubs to an enormous crossover success, and to the top of the playlists of radio and TV channels. In addition to his own songs he has worked with the biggest polo icons of our times, including Madonna, Coldplay, Nelly Furtado and Adele. For most of the producers this would be enough for a lifetime, but Axwell's biggest success story so far has been Swedish House Mafia, the formed together with childhood friends and long time collaborators Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso. The group that was active from 2007 until this year dominated dance charts in an unprecedented manner in both Europe and USA. Their "Save the World", "Miami to Ibiza", "One (Your Name)" and "Antidote" all made it to the Top 10 in UK and in USA, and sold almost 1,5 million copies. Their last single, "Don't' you worry Child" proved to be their most successful release ever, selling over 2 million copies in USA alone. At the same time their music videos received massive play on MTV and other music channels that traditionally have not played electronic dance music. Their legendary farewell tour "One Last Tour" racked up a landmark run of 53 shows across 36 cities. It's very hard to name other EDM artists that have accomplished the same. Swedish House Mafia was re-writing the history of dance music with each of their releases. Last year has seen a flurry of new Axwell music with collaborations with Sick Individuals on the huge "I Am", "Tokyo By Night" with Hook N Sling and a remix with NO_ID on Mutiny's "Feel the Pressure". Now is the time he can once again concentrate on his solo career, for Axwell these songs are all crafted with love from the heart. Having spun eclectic sets across 67 countries at some 480 shows over the past 5 years, it is fair to say that Axwell has a solid vision for the road ahead. As a proud member of the thriving global dance culture and a man who has taken the long way round to fulfil his wildest dreams, the labour of love has seldom sounded as sweet as that of Axwell. Summer Sound Festival, the largest electronic dance music event in Northern Europe that gathered over 30.000 attendees last year, returns this summer. The event will be even bigger than last year's, and the production even more massive. The festival takes place right in the middle of Helsinki on 18.-20.7.2014, and the line-up is a breathtaking mix of the world's biggest EDM superstars and the most exciting new talent. The crowd will also get to enjoy stunning special effects, great company and the unparalleled festival atmosphere. This year the Helsinki Convention Centre and it's surroundings will be transformed into a massive festival area with three stages for three days. It will be the summer's highlight for EDM lovers, comprised of thousands of hands in the air, pounding bass, smiling faces and an immense feeling of unity. Summer Sound is a completely unique event, and an experience you can't find at other Finnish festivals. The event is organized for the fourth time this year, and it has been sold out on all the previous years. The successful events of the previous years have encouraged the Summer Sound to introduce a completely new, third stage this year. The festival also puts a tremendous effort into the technical production and the overall customer satisfaction, in order to create an event that can be cherished as a beautiful memory for years to come.
