The calls reflect growing international outrage over Israel’s ongoing atrocities on Gaza and its long record of human rights violations against Palestinians — actions many argue make its inclusion in a contest celebrating unity and peace deeply inappropriate. Over 70 former Eurovision contestants have signed an open letter demanding that Israel and its national broadcaster, KAN, be barred from participating.
